Dollar General Assistant Store Manager helps maintain a clean, well-organized store with a customer-first focus. Under the direction of the Store Manager, you will supervise staff, manage merchandise presentation, and handle deposits and paperwork.

You will also perform stocking and cashiering duties, ensure inventory accuracy, and support efficiency and loss prevention to maximize profitability and customer satisfaction.

• Knowledge of cash handling policies and procedures.
• Strong interpersonal and written/oral communication skills.
• Ability to read and interpret documents and safety rules.
• Mathematical calculations including percentages and totals.
• Cashier accountability, deposits, and reporting familiarity.
• Vehicle access to bank deposits when needed.

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet customers and operate the cash register.
• Open and close the store at least two days per week.
• Assist with scheduling, training, safety meetings, and policy compliance.
• Follow processes to manage merchandise, receive, stock, and rotate.
• Maintain accurate inventory and control damages and markdowns.
• Support planograms and product presentation per Store Manager guidance.
• Ensure financial integrity through cashier accountability and cash control procedures.
• Assist with management in the Store Manager's absence.
