Job summary

Dollar General is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help maintain a clean, organized store with a customer-first focus. Under the Store Manager, you will assist with staff supervision, merchandising presentation, paperwork, and deposits, while performing stocking and cashier duties to maximize profitability and minimize losses.

You will lead cash handling, schedule employees, train staff, and ensure safety and policy compliance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment and six months supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong cash handling and loss prevention awareness.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet customers, operate cash register and scanner.
• Open and close the store a minimum of two days per week.
• Assist Store Manager with scheduling employees and training, and ensuring policy compliance.
• Manage merchandise flow: receiving, stocking, restocking, and displays according to planograms.
• Maintain accurate inventory and oversee cash handling and deposits to ensure financial integrity.
• Support store operations in the Store Manager's absence.
