Job summary

GOODWILL INDUSTRIES OF MISSISSIPPI seeks a Retail Assistant Manager in Meridian to supervise daily store operations, optimize backroom processes, and train team members while delivering excellent customer service.

The role requires strong leadership, cash handling, loss prevention, and effective communication to support the mission-driven work. This is a full-time, on-site position with standard retail hours and benefits eligibility.

Qualifications

• Basic judgment skills to determine merchandise/donation value.
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
• Advanced math skills, including basic accounting and cash control procedures.

Responsibilities

• Achieve sales quota for store by maximizing production and sales from store operations.
• In the absence of the Retail Store Manager, manage all store activities to ensure customer satisfaction and security of donated merchandise.
• Supervise production functions: receiving donations, issuing receipts, sorting and pricing items, and other duties as directed by leadership.
• Attend loss prevention/safety meetings and promote a safe environment for employees, clients, and customers.
• Ensure merchandise is placed on sales floor effectively and that customer service is provided.
• Handle cash register functions and transactions including sales, voids, pricing, and issuing receipts; promote Roundup Program.
• Assist in payroll, scheduling, budgeting, and training as required.
• Perform housekeeping duties and maintain clean sales floor and production areas.
• Record keeping and reporting of money, sales, and production using POS; report issues to Retail Sales Executive.
