Job summary

Goodwill Northern Michigan is seeking a Retail Team Lead to support store management and maintain high customer service standards. You will assist in payroll, attendance, cash handling, coaching staff, donations processing, and POS operations.

The role requires forklift/pallet jack operation, adherence to safety policies, and effective supervision of volunteers and staff to meet sales goals in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or GED.
• Previous retail management experience preferred.
• Current valid driver’s license without restrictions.
• Forklift, pallet jack, trash compactor operation required, or ability to learn.
• Excellent reading, writing, and math skills for transactions and documentation.
• Strong verbal communication with all departments, customers, and staff.

Responsibilities

• Review and approve payroll.
• Communicate attendance to store management team.
• Cash handling and reconciliation.
• Coaches retail team members.
• Receive and process donations.
• Operate and supervise forklifts, pallet jacks, trash compactors.
• Operate and supervise the point-of-sale system.
• Ensure security and safety measures are followed at all times.
• Open and close the store and balance daily revenues.
• Oversee volunteers and staff development.
