Job summary

LVI Associates is seeking a Structural Program Lead in the Twin Cities, MN to oversee one of the firm's top retail programs, combining structural leadership, client management, and commercial oversight. The role requires mentoring engineers, guiding multi-site delivery, reviewing calculations and drawings, and maintaining quality across prototypes and site-specific projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• 8+ years of structural engineering experience, preferably in retail, commercial, or multi-site programs.
• Professional Engineer license; ability to obtain additional state licenses.
• Experience leading major clients, project teams, or portfolios of concurrent projects.
• Strong knowledge of steel, concrete, masonry, timber, and light-gauge framing.
• Proficiency with RAM, RISA, STAAD, or similar.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
• Commercial awareness and experience supporting proposals or business development.

Responsibilities

• Lead a national portfolio of retail projects from scope through construction.
• Serve as the primary contact for clients, architects, contractors, and internal teams.
• Oversee project schedules, budgets, staffing, profitability, and technical delivery.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships while identifying opportunities for additional work.
• Lead and mentor structural engineers and designers across multiple levels.
• Provide senior technical guidance across steel, concrete, masonry, timber, and light‑gauge framing systems.
• Review calculations, drawings, specifications, and construction documents.
• Maintain consistency across prototype, renovation, and site‑specific retail projects.
• Support proposals, fee development, workload forecasting, and program growth.
• Ensure projects meet client expectations, internal quality standards, and applicable building codes.
