Job summary

Abilene Goodwill Industries is seeking an Assistant Store Manager for the Snyder, TX store. This role supports the Store Manager in overseeing daily operations, maximizing sales, managing staff, controlling expenses, and ensuring a safe, friendly shopping environment for donors and customers.

You will lead a diverse team, provide training, supervise cash handling and POS use, and ensure excellent customer service across donation, sales floor, and checkout areas.

Qualifications

• 6 months retail sales experience required.
• Supervisory experience preferred.
• High School/GED preferred.
• Must be able to read, write and operate a computer.

Responsibilities

• Monitor process flow and improve operations to drive sales.
• Ensure outstanding customer service and a friendly environment.
• Train and supervise employees; greet customers and assist donors.
• Oversee donations, stock, and checkout procedures.
• Operate POS and scanning technology accurately.
• Handle transactions, discounts, and tax exemptions.
• Follow the Goodwill mission and 'round up' program guidance.
• Maintain security: money handling and safeguarding the store.
• Assist with inventory management and stocking.
• Address concerns and communicate resolutions with Manager.
• Help hire, train, and develop staff; enforce policies.
