Job summary

Dollar Tree in Monroe, NC is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support daily store operations, assist customers, and help develop the store team. You will organize merchandise, help with opening and closing procedures, and ensure promotional displays stay effective.

The role requires strong communication, reliability, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. You will help supervise store associates, maintain cleanliness and safety, process directives, and contribute to loss

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives is required.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks as described.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional effectiveness of store-front fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, and record keeping (payroll, scheduling, and deposits).
• Maintain store areas, including a stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to policies and procedures including safety guidelines.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Ensure a positive, safe environment with professional interactions with customers and staff.
• Maintain cleanliness throughout the store and restock as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
