Job summary

Dollar Tree in California seeks an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development, with responsibilities spanning opening/closing, merchandise flow, and adherence to company policies.

You will supervise and train Store Associates, contribute to loss prevention, maintain stockrooms and sales floors, and ensure a safe, friendly environment for customers and staff. This role requires strong communication and organizational skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Retail or grocery store management experience preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy team environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process directives and maintain compliance with store activities.
• Maintain store fixtures, displays, and promotional effectiveness.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record keeping, and loss prevention.
• Maintain clean, well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including cash.
• Adhere to policies and ensure associates follow procedures.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers and staff.
• Maintain cleanliness throughout the store, bathrooms, floors, and waste disposal.
• Other duties as assigned.
