Job summary

Dollar Tree is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development at our California location. You will assist with day-to-day activities, help customers, and ensure merchandising is organized and well-presented across the sales floor and stockroom.

You will also participate in opening/closing procedures, follow corporate directives, and help train store associates while maintaining a positive and safe work environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Retail/store management experience preferred
• Ability to lift up to 55 lbs
• Strong communication and organizational skills

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed
• Process corporate directives and store communications
• Maintain promotional effectiveness of fixtures and displays
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record keeping (including payroll, scheduling, and cash handling) and loss prevention
• Maintain clean, well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom
• Protect and secure store assets, including cash
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines and train/store associates
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff
• Maintain store cleanliness (bathrooms, floors, trash) and overall presentation
• Perform other duties as assigned
