Job summary

Ace Retail Group, a division of Ace Hardware Corporation, is seeking an Assistant Manager, Operations to oversee daily store operations, customer service excellence, and safety standards at our Cary location.

You will supervise staff, manage opening/closing, assist in merchandising, training, and loss prevention, and work with the General Manager to meet store goals. This role requires retail management experience and a high school diploma, with a path to grow within a values-driven team.

Qualifications

• Minimum Skills, Requirements and Qualifications: High School or GED.
• Previous retail management experience preferred.
• Hardware experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide positive representation of Westlake Ace Hardware and greet customers.
• Supervise store operations and ensure a safe work environment for all associates.
• Open and close the store and implement Store Support Center programs.
• Oversee cashiering functions including training, audits, and reports.
• Assist with loss prevention, safety, and internal audits.
• Assist with merchandising, inventory, and signage updates.
• Lead training and development of associates and select heads of cashiering.
• Participate in weekly management staff meetings and communicate issues to the GM.
