Job summary

Ace Hardware Corporation is seeking a First Assistant Manager to bridge the gap between the Assistant Manager and Store Manager, serving as the primary successor and daily owner of store operations.

You will lead the full assistant management team, drive customer experience, manage scheduling, coaching, inventory, and safety, and develop talent for Store Manager readiness. This is a development-track role requiring flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3–5 years of retail experience with supervisory responsibility.
• Strong leadership, coaching, and multitasking abilities.
• Experience with store systems and financial accountability.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily store operations including opening, closing, and managing all shifts.
• Coach and develop Assistant Managers, Team Leads, and Sales Associates.
• Oversee scheduling, payroll close, and workflow approvals.
• Ensure inventory accuracy, pricing, and merchandising standards.
• Drive customer service excellence and a safe, compliant store environment.
• Support succession planning and development for Store Manager readiness.
