Job summary

Family Dollar in Ocala, FL is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations and customer service. You will help with opening/closing procedures, organize merchandise, and supervise store associates to maintain an engaging environment.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or equivalent and store leadership experience. You will promote safety, accuracy in payroll and scheduling, and ensure clean, well-stocked stores while delivering excellent customer service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Store management experience in retail preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. and perform physical tasks.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize, and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and store communications.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays in good condition.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll, scheduling, and cash handling; support loss prevention.
• Maintain clean, well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including cash.
• Follow safety guidelines and store policies; ensure associates comply.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff.
• Keep the store clean, restocked, and presentable; manage bathrooms and floors.
