Job summary

Family Dollar is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to assist with store operations, customer service and team development. You will help with opening/closing, merchandise flow, scheduling, and loss prevention while keeping the store clean and organized.

The role requires strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, with a focus on delivering excellent customer service in a fast-paced retail environment. This position offers a collaborative team setting with growth potential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required/readable operational directives.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Organize, transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional effectiveness of store fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record keeping (including payroll, scheduling, and cash deposits/receipts), and loss prevention.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure store assets, including cash.
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines and ensure associates follow procedures.
• Help store manager supervise, train, and develop store associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff.
• Keep store clean, restocked, and presentable.
