Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking a Store Manager to lead all store operations, including staffing, ordering, stocking, presentation, and customer service. You will recruit, train, evaluate, and counsel employees to maintain a compliant and efficient store.

Responsibilities include driving sales, managing inventory, and ensuring safety and security procedures are followed while maintaining a clean, well‑organized environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1 year of management experience in retail preferred.
• Knowledge of cash handling and POS procedures.
• Strong reading and numerical skills.
• Ability to recruit, interview, hire and counsel per policy.

Responsibilities

• Recruits, selects, and retains qualified employees per laws and Company policies; ensure store is properly staffed.
• Provides training for employees; conducts evaluations; counsels up to termination.
• Makes recommendations regarding employee pay rate and advancement.
• Communicates performance, conduct and safety expectations; coordinates meetings.
• Ensures store opens/closes as required; opens/closes at least two times weekly.
• Evaluates operating statements to identify trends and opportunities; monitor shrink.
• Orders to meet in-stock targets; reviews ordering plan and inventory issues weekly.
• Facilitates efficient staging, stocking, and storage of merchandise.
• Ensures merchandise is presented per established practices; use fixtures, pricing, signage.
• Maintains accurate inventory levels; manages damages and paperwork.
• Ensures financial integrity through cash controls and security practices.
• Provides superior customer service leadership.
• Maintains clean, safe store environment; ensures proper equipment availability.
• Follows SOPs, handbook, and company communications; ensures compliance.
• Completes all paperwork and documentation per guidelines.
