Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking an experienced Store Manager to oversee all store operations, staffing, ordering, receiving, stocking, presentation and sales performance. You will lead a team, ensure compliance with company policies, and optimize daily store processes to deliver results.

The role requires strong leadership, cash handling and inventory skills, plus a high school diploma and retail management experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret diagrams, safety rules, and procedures manuals.
• Ability to perform mathematical calculations and percentages.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability and deposits.
• Knowledge of inventory management and merchandising practices.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of recruiting, interviewing and termination practices including legal compliance.

Responsibilities

• Recruits, selects, and retains qualified employees per laws and policies.
• Provides training and conducts performance evaluations.
• Monitors staffing and advancement decisions.
• Communicates performance expectations and maintains safety standards.
• Ensures store staffing and opening/closing routines are followed.
• Evaluates operating statements to identify trends and losses.
• Manages ordering and stock targets; reviews replenishment plans.
• Facilitates stocking and merchandising processes according to company practice.
• Maintains inventory accuracy and cash controls.
• Leads customer service and maintains a safe, clean store environment.
