Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager Candidate to assist the Store Manager in running store processes, supervising employees, handling inventory, stocking, and receiving. This temporary role aims to develop an external candidate for the Store Manager position.

The role includes assisting in recruitment, merchandising, inventory controls, and daily store operations, while upholding company policies and providing strong customer service leadership.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• Experience in retail operations and staffing is advantageous.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures and store security practices.
• Familiarity with inventory procedures, damages, markdowns, and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Assist with store merchandising and pricing according to guidelines.
• Assist in inventory management and preparing inventories.
• Follow ordering practices to meet in-stock targets.
• Provide customer service leadership.
• Follow company procedures and policies.
• Participate in store opening/closing.
• Ensure safe deposit of funds.
• Maintain cash accountability and security.
• Maintain clean, well-stocked stores and safe environment.
• Operate store in manager's absence.
• Review operating statements for trends and opportunities.
• Complete paperwork as required.
