Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking a Store Manager Candidate to support the Store Manager in implementing store processes, supervising staff, handling staffing, inventory, merchandising, and daily operations. This role develops an external candidate for the Store Manager position for a limited period.

The role emphasizes adherence to company policies, loss prevention, and accurate cash handling while ensuring a safe, well-stocked store environment and strong customer service at the countertop

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as diagrams, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures manuals.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability and deposit controls.
• Knowledge of inventory management and merchandising practices.

Responsibilities

• Assists in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Assists with store merchandising by staging, stocking and pricing merchandise.
• Assists in all aspects of inventory management and prepare inventories.
• Follows prescribed ordering practices to meet in-stock targets.
• Provides superior customer service leadership.
• Participates in store opening and closing activities.
• Reviews operating statements to identify trends and opportunities.
• Completes all paperwork and documentation according to guidelines and deadlines.
