Job summary

Dollar General Corporation seeks a Store Manager Candidate to support the Store Manager in daily operations including staffing, inventory management, stocking, and store needs. This role develops an external candidate for the Store Manager position for a limited period.

You will assist with recruiting, merchandising, inventory control, cash handling, and policy adherence, while participating in opening/closing duties and deposits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• Two or more years of experience in a leadership or managerial position.
• Two or more years of experience in a retail grocery store strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Assists with store merchandising by staging, stocking and storage of merchandise; ensures presentation per practices and manager direction; utilizes fixtures, signing and pricing.
• Assists in all aspects of inventory management including damages, markdowns, scan, paperwork and controls; prepares inventories.
• Follows prescribed ordering to meet or exceed in-stock targets.
• Provides superior customer service leadership.
• Acts as a role model by following company procedures and policies.
• Participates in store opening and closing activities.
• Ensures the safe deposit of all company funds in the designated bank.
• Assists in maintaining financial integrity through cashier accountability and cash control procedures.
• Maintains a clean, well-stocked store and safe environment for customers and employees.
• Opens/closes the store in the manager’s absence.
• Reviews operating statements for trends, labor, profitability, inventory turn, expenses and shrink.
• Completes all paperwork and documentation on time.
