Job summary

Dollar General seeks a Store Manager Candidate to assist the Store Manager in supervising employees, staffing, inventory, stocking and receiving, paperwork, and store needs. This role is a developmental, limited-period position to prepare for a Store Manager role.

Key duties include assisting recruiting, merchandising, inventory control, and ensuring financial integrity through cash controls and accurate reporting. Travel to Dollar General stores may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• Experience in retail environment preferred for external candidates.
• Ability to read and interpret procedures and rules.
• Knowledge of cash handling, deposits, and cashier accountability.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Assist with store merchandising and inventory management.
• Manage in-stock targets and proper sign and pricing.
• Provide superior customer service leadership.
• Operate store in store manager's absence.
• Review operating statements for trends and opportunities.
