Job summary

FirstCash in Brownsville, TX is seeking a Store Management Trainee to learn the day-to-day operations and develop leadership skills in a fast-paced retail environment. You will work with store leadership to gain hands-on experience across customer service, inventory management, merchandising and staff development.

As you progress, you will support coaching, training, recruiting, scheduling, and asset protection duties while helping drive sales, profitability, and store performance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent experience.
• Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
• Ability to stand, walk and lift up to 50 lbs.

Store Management Trainee

$14.50 - $17.00 per hour

As a Store Management Trainee, you'll work alongside store leadership to learn the day‑to‑day operations of the business while developing the skills needed to lead a successful team. You'll gain experience in customer service, employee development, inventory management, store operations, and business performance while working with a wide variety of merchandise, including jewelry, electronics, tools, and more.

What We're Looking For

• 18+ years old with a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience
• Previous leadership, key‑holder, supervisory, or management experience preferred
• Strong leadership, coaching, and team development skills
• Ability to stand, walk, lift up to 50 lbs, and perform physical tasks
• Flexible retail schedule, including weekends and holidays
• Comfortable working with a variety of merchandise (firearms in FFL locations; certification provided)
• Strong customer service skills and a team‑oriented mindset
• Basic math and computer skills; experience with retail point‑of‑sale systems is a plus
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem‑solving skills
• Ability to multi‑task in a fast‑paced environment
• Willingness to assist customers or retrieve merchandise from exterior areas
• Bilingual applicants encouraged to apply

Commission Information

Store Management Trainees can earn 2-8% commission based on individual performance and may be eligible for additional bonus opportunities based on overall store performance. Full details are provided during the interview process.
