Job summary

FirstCash is seeking an ambitious Store Management Trainee to join our team in Weslaco, TX. You will learn day-to-day operations, develop leadership skills, and gain hands-on management experience across diverse merchandise categories.

You'll deliver strong customer service, participate in coaching and training, assist with store performance goals, and complete the management training program to advance into leadership roles.

Qualifications

• Must be 18+ with a high school diploma or GED
• Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred
• Flexible retail schedule including weekends and holidays
• Comfortable working with a variety of merchandise (firearms in FFL locations; certification provided)
• Ability to stand, walk, lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks
• Strong customer service and team-oriented mindset
• Basic math and computer skills; experience with retail POS systems is a plus
• Strong leadership, coaching, and communication skills
• Willingness to assist customers or retrieve merchandise from exterior areas
• Bilingual applicants encouraged to apply

Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional customer service and help create a customer-focused environment
• Learn and support all aspects of daily store operations
• Assist with coaching, training, and developing team members
• Support recruiting and talent development efforts
• Open and close the store following asset protection and cash handling procedures
• Assist with inventory management, merchandising, and store presentation
• Help drive store performance by supporting sales, loan, and profitability goals
• Learn how to analyze business results and support operational decision-making
• Monitor loan and buying transactions for accuracy and compliance
• Build product knowledge across merchandise categories
• Complete management training and development assignments
• Perform other duties as assigned

$14.50 - $17.00 per hour

As a Store Management Trainee, you'll work alongside store leadership to learn the day‑to‑day operations of the business while developing the skills needed to lead a successful team. You'll gain experience in customer service, employee development, inventory management, store operations, and business performance while working with a wide variety of merchandise, including jewelry, electronics, tools, and more.

Commission Information

Store Management Trainees can earn 2-8% commission based on individual performance and may be eligible for additional bonus opportunities based on overall store performance. Full details are provided during the interview process.
