Job summary

Family Dollar seeks an Assistant Store Manager to help run daily store operations, support customers, and develop the team. You will assist with merchandising, opening/closing, and executing directives to maintain a well-stocked, clean store.

You will lead associates, ensure safety, and uphold company policies while delivering excellent service in a high-energy retail environment. Equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read and interpret directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Excellent customer service, organization, and problem-solving skills required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with day-to-day store activities and operations.
• Support customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures.
• Process corporate directives and store communications.
• Maintain store fixtures, displays, and promotional effectiveness.
• Assist in ordering, processing damaged merchandise, payroll, scheduling, and cash handling.
• Keep store areas well-stocked, clean, and orderly.
• Protect company assets including cash; ensure policy compliance.
• Train and develop Store Associates and maintain a respectful environment.
