Goodwill Greater New York and Northern New Jersey (GWNYNJ) is seeking an Assistant Store Manager in Pequannock, NJ. This role trains and coaches the store team to drive growth, embody the brand, and deliver exceptional customer service.

You will oversee operations with attention to detail and promote the mission in a fast-paced retail environment. The position emphasizes building teams, meeting performance goals, managing schedules, and ensuring compliance with policies while nurturing community

Qualifications

• Some college preferred.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Two years of supervisory experience and two years of retail experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Suite.
• Strong interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills.
• Able to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Open availability, including holidays.
• Proven ability to drive and exceed store results.
• Proven ability to build lasting relationships with colleagues.
• Adapt to internal and external customers.
• Accurate and detail-oriented

Responsibilities

• Operate in established hours and ensure proper staffing.
• Control and minimize store expenses; improve sales efficiency.
• Develop local donor base; train staff to greet and engage customers.
• Maintain cash handling and bank deposits according to policy.
• Ensure store cleanliness, safety, and secure premises.
• Prepare sales reports, invoices, donor logs, and cash reports.
