Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager to lead all store operations in Grand Rapids. You will oversee staffing, training, performance evaluations, and adherence to policies while driving sales and inventory control.

You will manage opening/closing, cash handling, and ensure excellent customer service. A strong focus on safety, compliance, and team development is essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required or strongly preferred.
• Experience leading retail staff is preferred (1 year).
• Knowledge of cash handling and inventory control policies.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, select and retain qualified employees per laws and policies.
• Provide training, evaluations, and counseling; address performance gaps.
• Ensure store staffing, opening and closing per schedule.
• Open the store at least two times/week and close at least two times/week.
• Monitor sales, expenses, shrink, and inventory for trends and accuracy.
• Oversee stock replenishment and weekly ordering to meet targets.
• Ensure proper merchandise presentation, pricing, and signage.
• Maintain cash controls and security; ensure customer service leadership.
• Keep store clean, safe, and well-organized; ensure proper equipment.
