Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager to lead a busy retail location in Michigan. You will oversee all store operations, staffing, training, and performance management, ensuring excellent customer service and adherence to company policies.

Responsibilities include inventory control, merchandising, cash handling, and maintaining a safe, well-organized store. The role requires strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, with a focus on operational efficiency and staff

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of management experience in a retail environment preferred.
• Certain store locations may give preference to bilingual Spanish speakers.

Responsibilities

• Manage all employees in planning and implementing store processes (ordering, receiving, stocking, presentation, selling, staffing).
• Recruit, train, evaluate, and counsel employees up to termination.
• Recommend pay rate and advancement decisions.
• Communicate performance and safety expectations; coordinate meetings and events.
• Open and close the store daily as required (minimum 2 openings/2 closings per week).
• Analyze operating statements for trends, expenses, shrink, and errors.
• Oversee inventory planning, ordering, and cycle counts.
• Ensure merchandise is properly presented with pricing and signage.
• Maintain accurate inventory and cash controls; ensure security practices.
• Provide superior customer service leadership and maintain a clean, safe store environment.
