Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking a Store Manager Candidate to support the Store Manager in supervising employees, handling staffing, inventory, stocking and receiving, and store operations. This temp role is designed to develop external candidates for Store Manager.

The position involves ensuring cash controls, safe handling of funds, and adherence to company policies. Occasional travel and opening/closing duties are required in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment preferred for external candidates.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as diagrams, safety rules, and procedures manuals.
• Effective oral and written communication skills and interpersonal abilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Assist with store merchandising and proper pricing of merchandise.
• Assist in all aspects of inventory management and prepare inventories.
• Follow prescribed ordering practices to meet in-stock targets.
• Provide superior customer service leadership.
• Participate in store opening and closing activities.
