TJ Maxx in Washington, DC is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to inspire teams, uphold an inclusive environment, and deliver magical moments for customers. You’ll mentor Associates, manage daily operations, and drive sales while controlling expenses in a fast-paced setting.

This role emphasizes training, development, and strong communication as you lead a large retail team, partner with store leadership, and implement strategies that meet service and shrink targets.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of retail leadership experience as an Assistant or Store Manager.
• Demonstrated ability to lead, develop, and empower a large team.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills with ability to influence and provide effective feedback.
• Proficient in store operations, customer service, merchandising, people management, health and safety, and loss prevention.

Responsibilities

• Drive store performance by supporting sales results and overseeing key operations including merchandising, backroom, frontline, cash office, customer service, markdowns, scheduling, shipping, and receiving.
• Attract, recruit, and cultivate top talent by providing comprehensive training and ongoing development for Associates.
• Communicate and implement action plans for projects and store changes; contribute to succession planning.
• Implement strategies to meet sales, expense, and customer service targets and coordinate loss prevention programs.
