Job summary

Dollar General seeks an Assistant Store Manager to support daily store operations, supervise staff, and ensure excellent customer service. You will help manage merchandise, cash handling, and deposits while focusing on profitability and loss prevention.

Role requires supervisory exposure in retail, strong communication, and organizational abilities to maintain a well-run store. This position is full-time and located at a Dollar General store.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• One year of retail experience with supervisory exposure preferred.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to manage cash handling and deposits.
• Strong organizational and multi-tasking abilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet and assist customers and operate cash register.
• Open and close the store at least two days per week.
• Assist Store Manager with scheduling, training, safety meetings, and policy compliance.
• Manage merchandise flow: receiving, stocking, display and markdowns.
• Maintain accurate inventory and control damages, scans and paperwork.
• Assist with planograms and merchandise presentation as directed by the Store Manager.
• Ensure cashier integrity, cash control, refunds, overrides, and deposits.
• Support store operations in the Store Manager's absence.
