Job summary

Dollar General is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to lead a customer-first, profitable store operation. You will assist with supervision, merchandising, deposits, and overall store performance, while maintaining asset protection and policy compliance.

The role includes cashier accountability, staff training, scheduling, and inventory management in a fast-paced environment. A high school diploma and minimum retail experience are preferred, with opportunity to advance within our nationwide

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as diagrams, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures manuals.
• Ability to perform mathematical calculations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages.
• Ability to perform cash register functions and generate reports.
• Knowledge of cash, facility, and safety control policies and practices.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability and deposit control.
• Ability to drive own vehicle to the bank to deposit money.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service leadership; greet and assist customers, operate cash register and scanner.
• Open and close the store at least two days per week.
• Assist Store Manager with scheduling, training, safety meetings, and policy compliance.
• Follow processes to manage merchandise: receiving, stocking, displays.
• Maintain accurate inventory, control damages and markdowns, and manage paperwork.
• Assist with planograms and merchandise presentation.
• Ensure financial integrity through cashier accountability and cash control; sign refunds/overrides, count tills, deposit money.
• Assist with management in Store Manager's absence.
