Job summary

Blarney Castle is hiring an Assistant Manager in Michigan to help lead store operations and direct a team of associates during shifts. You will connect with customers, coach staff, and ensure cleanliness, product quality and adherence to company standards while maintaining compliance with state and federal laws.

The role requires strong communication, leadership and cash handling skills, with flexibility to work various shifts and on-call requirements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Two years progressive retail experience preferred.
• Strong math skills for cash handling, inventory, and pricing calculations.
• Able to read, write, understand and apply instructions, procedures, trainings.
• Strong communication skills with customers, employees and vendors.
• Able to work in a team environment.
• Computer literacy with POS and HR basics helpful.

Responsibilities

• Display a customer-first attitude by ensuring staff provide immediate attention and resolve complaints.
• Support Store Manager by implementing programs and motivating staff to meet objectives.
• Identify, delegate and communicate responsibilities to ensure smooth operations.
• Provide coaching to employees on shift to improve performance.
• Assist with new employee training and provide feedback to the manager.
• Remain calm during busy periods and maintain store standards.
• Assist in marketing, fuel and food strategies and stock availability.
• Maintain pricing and inventory to standards and manage vendor performance.
• Follow policies and ensure compliance with laws; report concerns to the Store Manager.
• Handle deposits and reconcile daily receipts; communicate maintenance needs promptly.
• Ensure safety policies are followed; lead safety meetings and training.
• Respond to emergencies outside normal hours when needed.
• Work on-site at the assigned store location and complete training on time.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
