Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking a Store Manager in Newark, OH to oversee all store processes, staffing, and daily operations. You will lead ordering, receiving, stocking, presentation, selling, and safety programs to achieve targets and deliver excellent customer service.

The role requires supervisory experience in retail, strong organizational skills, and a focus on loss prevention and cash handling.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, preferred.
• One year of management experience in a retail environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Recruits, selects, and retains qualified employees according to federal and state labor laws and Company policies; ensure store is properly staffed.
• Provides proper training for employees; conducts performance evaluations; identifies gaps for appropriate solutions and/or counseling, up to and including termination.
• Makes recommendations regarding employee pay rate and advancement.
• Communicates performance, conduct and safety expectations regularly; coordinates meetings and events to encourage safety, security and policies.
• Ensures that the store is appropriately staffed and effectively opened and closed each day.
• Evaluates operating statements to identify business trends including sales, profitability, and turn.
• Orders to meet in-stock targets; reviews ordering plan and inventory management issues weekly.
• Facilitates efficient staging, stocking and storage of merchandise following Company processes.
• Ensures merchandise is presented according to established practices; uses fixtures, pricing and signage.
• Maintains accurate inventory levels; controls damages, markdowns, and cash handling.
• Ensures financial integrity through cashier accountability and cash control procedures.
• Provides superior customer service leadership.
• Maintains a clean, safe store environment.
• Follows SOPs, handbook and company communications; ensures compliance.
• Completes all paperwork and documentation on time.
