Job summary

Dollar Tree is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help with store operations, customer service and team development. Duties include assisting with day-to-day store activities, organizing merchandise, opening/closing procedures, and processing corporate directives while maintaining clean, well-stocked areas.

The role supports the Store Manager in training Store Associates and ensuring a positive, safe environment with strong customer service and effective communication.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred) and ability to read/interpret directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks as needed.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures.
• Process corporate directives and store communications.
• Maintain promotional fixtures, displays and store cleanliness.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged goods, record-keeping and loss prevention.
• Protect and secure store assets, including cash.
• Support Store Manager in training and developing Store Associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe environment and professional customer interactions.
• Complete other duties as assigned.
