Job summary

Citi Trends is seeking an Assistant Store Manager in the United States to support daily store operations, lead a team, and drive sales performance. You will partner with the Store Manager to hire, onboard, and develop store associates while ensuring excellent customer service and compliant operations.

The role requires strong communication and leadership skills, plus flexibility to work nights and weekends in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2–4 years of experience as an Assistant Manager or similar retail leadership role.
• 3–5 years of overall retail experience preferred.
• Strong communication, organizational, and people leadership skills.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
• Ability to perform basic math calculations, including percentages.

Responsibilities

• Support daily store operations to ensure sales goals and customer experience standards are met.
• Monitor sales activity and guide associates to deliver excellent service.
• Assist with inventory control, transactions, and shrink prevention.
• Ensure compliance with Citi Trends policies and standards.
• Supervise associates in sales, inventory, cash handling, and service.
• Assist Store Manager with hiring, onboarding, and training of staff.
• Support staffing levels through recruiting and retention efforts.
• Provide ongoing coaching and performance feedback.
