Job summary

S&G Stores in Michigan is seeking an Assistant Manager to act as direct support to the Store Manager, ensuring efficient store operations, compliance with laws and company policies, and effective asset controls. The role involves supervising staff, delivering strong customer service, and helping maximize sales and profits.

You will work closely with the Store Manager to develop leaders, train employees, and maintain merchandising standards while rotating inventory and ensuring safety and loss

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required
• Previous supervisory experience preferred
• Familiarity with store systems and technologies
• Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
• Knowledge of retail business practices
• Understanding of store transactions and related programs

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service leadership for the whole store and staff
• Ensure adherence to company policies by employees
• Maintain clean and organized store appearance inside and out
• Foster customer service focused environment
• Develop leaders and support staff retention
• Respond quickly to emergencies for safety of customers and employees
• Ensure merchandising programs and plan-o-gram integrity are followed
• Educate staff on selling initiatives to maximize sales
• Monitor store activities and ensure proper transactions
• Rotate foodservice products to keep them fresh and appealing
• Complete store reports and performance appraisals in a timely manner
