Job summary

Dollar Tree is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development at our Barrington, NJ location. Responsibilities include assisting with daily store activities, merchandising, opening/closing procedures, and ensuring a safe, friendly environment for customers and associates.

The role requires strong communication and organizational skills, the ability to lift up to 55 lbs, and experience in a retail setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical duties.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills are required.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Assist with merchandise organization and transfers from delivery to stockroom to sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged goods,Record keeping including payroll, scheduling, cash deposits.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom.
• Protect and secure store assets, including cash.
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines; oversee associates.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop store associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe environment with professional interactions.
• Maintain store cleanliness including bathrooms, floors, trash, and neatness.
• Other duties as assigned.
