Job summary

Hibbett Gonzales, LA is seeking an Assistant Manager to support daily store operations, customer service, merchandising, and achievement of store goals. You will be knowledgeable across product areas and take supervisory responsibilities in the Store Manager’s absence.

The role requires 1–3 years of retail or customer service experience, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to lead a team in a fast-paced environment. Non-exempt, hourly position.

Qualifications

• Experience in a retail environment, preferably footwear/apparel.
• 1–3 years of customer service experience.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Store Manager in controlling assets and store operations.
• Collaborate on action plans for selling, restocking, merchandising, ordering, and scheduling.
• Oversee the store in the Store Manager’s absence.
• Assist in recruiting, training, and evaluating staff.
• Provide guidance to employees and customers in all departments.
• Monitor inventory, sales statistics, and expenses to ensure profitability.
• Direct staff to ensure department responsibilities and standards are met.
• Maintain inventory movement updates and respond to customer trends.
• Ensure extraordinary customer service per policy and manual guidance.
