Job summary

Hibbett I City Gear in New Orleans is seeking an Assistant Manager to support the Store Manager in all aspects of daily operations and customer service. The role requires knowledge of product areas, strong leadership, and a hands-on approach to merchandising and store performance.

The ideal candidate has 1–3 years of customer service experience, excellent communication skills, and a proactive, team-oriented mindset. This is a non-exempt, hourly position located in Lakewood Plaza.

Qualifications

• Experience working in a retail environment, preferably in footwear and athletic apparel.
• 1-3 years of customer service experience.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Store Manager in selling, restocking, merchandising, ordering and scheduling.
• Stand in for the Store Manager in their absence.
• Assist in recruiting, training, and evaluating store personnel.
• Provide knowledge and guidance to employees and customers in all departments.
• Monitor inventory, sales and expenses to help ensure profitability.
• Deliver extraordinary customer service per the customer service manual.
• Promote and sell services and merchandise offered by Hibbett I City Gear.
• Uphold company policies and safeguard assets.
