Job summary

Hibbett, Inc. is seeking an Assistant Manager for its Covington, LA location. You will support the Store Manager in daily operations, drive sales, merchandising, and staffing, and provide outstanding service to customers.

The role requires knowledge of store procedures, a passion for merchandise promotion, and the ability to act in the Store Manager's absence. This non-exempt hourly position reports to the Store Manager.

Qualifications

• Experience in retail, preferably footwear/apparel, with customer-facing duties.
• 1–3 years of customer service experience.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and lead small teams.
• Self-starter with initiative and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Assist Store Manager in controlling assets and executing action plans for selling, restocking, merchandising, ordering and scheduling.
• Step in for Store Manager in their absence and carry out related responsibilities.
• Participate in recruiting, training, and evaluating store personnel.
• Provide knowledge and guidance to employees and customers across departments.
• Monitor inventory, sales statistics, and expenses to support profitability.
• Direct staff to ensure department duties and standards are fulfilled.
• Maintain customer service quality and assist customers during peak periods.
• Promote and sell services and merchandise offered by Hibbett I City Gear.
• Uphold company policies and internal controls; report fraud risk to management.
