Job summary

Hibbett I City Gear Palmhurst, TX is seeking an Assistant Manager to support the Store Manager in daily operations, customer service, and product knowledgeable leadership. This role covers multiple departments and ensures adherence to company standards.

The Assistant Manager may supervise in the Store Manager’s absence, assist in selling, restocking, merchandising, ordering, and scheduling, and contribute to staff training while maintaining service excellence.

Qualifications

• Retail experience, preferably in footwear and athletic apparel.
• 1-3 years of customer service experience.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist Store Manager in controlling assets.
• Consult with Store Manager to establish action plans for selling, restocking, merchandising, ordering, and scheduling.
• Assumes responsibility of the entire store in the absence of the Store Manager.
• Assist in recruiting, training, and evaluating personnel as needed.
• Provide knowledge and guidance to employees and customers in all departments.
• Monitor inventory, sales statistics, and expenses to ensure profitability.
• Direct staff to uphold department responsibilities and standards.
• Keep Store Manager informed about inventory movement and customer trends.
• Maintain extraordinary customer service per manuals.
• Promote and sell services and merchandise provided by the store.
• Uphold all store policies, procedures, and internal controls.
• Protect assets and information by maintaining internal control procedures.
