Job summary

Dollar General is seeking an Assistant Store Manager in the United States to help oversee daily store operations, supervise staff, and ensure excellent customer service. Responsibilities include cashiering, stocking, merchandising, loss prevention, and opening/closing duties.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• Retail experience and six months supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet and assist customers, and operate cash register and scanner to itemize the customer's purchase.
• Open and close the store a minimum of two days per week.
• Assist Store Manager with scheduling employees, training, safety meetings, and ensuring compliance with policies and procedures.
• Follow work processes to manage merchandise, including receiving, unpacking, stocking, restocking and rotating on shelves and building displays.
• Assist in maintaining accurate inventory levels by controlling damages, markdowns, scanning, paperwork, and facility controls.
• Assist in implementation and maintenance of planograms; ensure merchandise is presented according to established practices and Store Manager direction.
• Assist in ensuring financial integrity of the store through cashier accountability, cash control procedures; authorize and sign for refunds and overrides, count tills, and deposit money.
