Job summary

Dollar General is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to maintain a clean, organized store with a customer-first focus. You will assist the Store Manager in supervising staff, managing merchandise presentation, and handling deposits and paperwork.

You’ll also stock, cashier, and help maximize profitability while protecting assets. Responsibilities include scheduling, training, safety meetings, and ensuring policy compliance.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet customers and operate POS system.
• Open and close the store a minimum of two days per week.
• Assist Store Manager with scheduling and training of employees and safety meetings.
• Follow processes to manage merchandise: receiving, stocking, restocking, and displays.
• Maintain accurate inventory via damage control, markdowns, scanning, and paperwork.
• Assist with planogram implementation and merchandise presentation.
• Ensure financial integrity through cashier accountability, deposits, and refunds/overrides.
• Support store operations in the Store Manager's absence.
