Job summary

Trustmark is seeking an experienced mortgage underwriter to support retail and wholesale originations with decisioning and guidance per GSE guidelines. The role covers income scenarios, appraisal review, and adherence to investor requirements.

The candidate will manage a small loan pipeline, stay current on guideline updates, and handle QC/QA exceptions with strong organizational and communication skills.

Qualifications

• 5 years underwriting FNMA/FHLMC, FHA, USDA and VA loans.
• FHA DE certification
• VA SAR certification
• Experience underwriting FNMA/FHLMC/FHA/VA/USDA Rural Housing loans
• Understanding of underwriting guidelines
• DeskTop Underwriter experience
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• PC skills: Excel and Word
• College education preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide assistance to both retail and TPO originators, processors, for questions regarding guidelines, income requirements scenarios.
• Maintain a small pipeline of loans to decision for final approval based on underwriting authority delegations.
• Review all appraisal types for final approval including issuing NOV’s and HFS/USDA conditional requirements.

• Working knowledge of Excel, Word, and other PC applications
• College education preferred
