Bethel Bakery in Bethel Park is hiring a Retail Shift Lead to manage storefronts during shifts, train staff, and deliver exceptional customer service. The role offers a defined career path with pay increases as you progress through lead levels.

Starting pay is $15.00–$16.50 per hour, experience-based, with full-time hours and benefits. Growth opportunities include additional responsibilities and advancement to higher lead levels.

Responsibilities

• Open and close the bakery and complete required security procedures.
• Handle cash and operate the POS system accurately.

• Develop knowledge of products, pricing, packaging, and seasonal offerings.
• Process customer purchases and orders.
• Assign tasks and provide direction to Retail Associates during shifts.
• Maintain well-stocked, clean, and appealing bakery displays.
• Support daily storefront operations and communicate needs to management.
• Help ensure customer service, food safety, and operational standards are followed.

Looking for more than a typical retail job? At Bethel Bakery, our Retail Shift Lead is the first step in a structured career path designed to help you build your leadership, customer service, product knowledge, and bakery operations skills.

You'll receive hands-on training, coaching, and ongoing development as you learn our storefront. As you demonstrate proficiency and take on additional responsibilities, you'll have opportunities to advance to higher Lead levels with increased pay.

Starting Pay: $15.00–$16.50/hour, based on experience

As a Retail Shift Lead, you'll help lead the bakery storefront during your assigned shifts while providing excellent service to our customers. You'll be responsible for:

• Opening and closing the bakery and completing required security procedures.
• Handling cash and operating the POS system accurately.
• Providing friendly, prompt, and professional customer service.
• Developing strong knowledge of our products, pricing, packaging, and seasonal offerings.
• Processing customer purchases and orders.
• Assigning tasks and providing direction to Retail Associates during your shift.
• Maintaining well-stocked, clean, and appealing bakery displays.
• Supporting daily storefront operations and communicating needs to management.
• Helping ensure company customer service, food safety, and operational standards are followed.

How You'll Grow

Once you successfully complete the required training and assessments for each role, you'll receive a $0.50/hour pay increase. After you demonstrate proficiency in that role, you'll be eligible for consideration for advancement to the next level.

Our Lead career path includes:

Customer Service Shift Lead-Additional $1.00/hour

Build on your Retail Shift Lead experience by developing advanced customer service, product knowledge, order-processing, and Call Center skills. This level expands your ability to assist with more complex customer needs and provides additional opportunities to support our Retail Associates and Retail Shift Leads.

Senior Customer Service Shift Lead-Additional $1.00/hour

Continue developing into one of our most experienced Leads. This level includes advanced Call Center training, complex customer orders and customer concerns, coordination between storefront and Call Center operations, and mentoring and supporting other Leads.

What We're Looking For

Schedule

• Full-time, 40 hours/5 days per week
• Monday–Saturday schedule, with one weekday off
• Rotating 8-hour shifts (including opening and closing shifts)
  • Opening shifts begin at 6:30 a.m.
  • Closing shifts end at 6:30 p.m.
• Closed Sundays and major holidays
• Must be available during our busy holiday seasons
