Job summary

The Salvation Army USA Western Territory’s Alhambra Thrift Store is hiring a Sales Associate/Material Handler to promote a positive shopping and donor experience. You will greet customers, stock merchandise, keep the sales floor clean, and assist in donation processing.

This part-time role involves POS duties, teamwork with staff and donors, and adherence to TSA policies. The store offers career growth opportunities, employee discounts, and paid time off.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Must be able to accurately handle POS/Cash Register operations and cash transactions.
• Must pass background check, which will include Criminal History and Sex Offender Registry.
• Ability to communicate effectively with management, fellow store employees, customers and donors.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and donors and provide prompt, courteous assistance.
• Stock priced items and merchandize on the sales floor.
• Maintain the store and donation area, keeping it clean, neat and organized; perform cleaning duties as assigned by Management.
• Follow all POS/Cash Register Policies in accordance with TSA Policies and Procedures.
• Maintain safety and compliance standards.
• Attend required Monthly Store Meetings.
• Receive, unload, and stock incoming inventory items accurately and efficiently.
• Provide Quality Assurance by inspecting products for defects and damages.
• Assist donor in removal of donations from donor’s vehicle and provide receipt.
• Sort donations into proper containers and stack materials as instructed by Management.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Management.
