Job summary

Brightstar is a leading lottery solutions provider seeking a Relief Sales Representative for SW Indiana territory. You will support the District Sales team by maintaining workflows during open territories, executing sales initiatives, and providing essential administrative and field support.

The role requires 3+ years in retail or wholesale route sales, strong interpersonal skills, and ability to travel extensively. A Bachelor’s degree and a valid driver’s license are preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience in retail or wholesale route sales.
  • Must be able to speak clearly and persuasively with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Effective time management and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be willing and able to work flexible hours, including weekends when needed.
  • Extensive daytime travel is required; overnight stays may be warranted.
  • Must possess the ability to understand lottery transactions and operations; driver’s license and routine vehicle maintenance reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Cover open territories due to vacancy, vacation, extended leave, personal time off or other vacancies.
  • Provide administrative and warehouse support for Hoosier Lottery offices and offsite facilities, including POS distribution and managing returns.
  • Aid in collecting paperwork for new retailers, renewals, changes of ownership and terminations.
  • Support retail resets, new store set-ups, terminations, and changes of ownership.
  • Develop execution plans and promotions to grow sales within the district.
  • Provide training on Hoosier Lottery products, equipment, and sales practices.
  • Assist with collection and delivery of inventory, property, and equipment.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Uphold retailer lottery contract policies and procedures.
  • Perform other related tasks as assigned.

Overview

Territory is SW Indiana, parts of 14 counties, including: Marion, Johnson, Morgan, Hendricks, Boone, Montgomery, Fountain, Putnam, Monroe, Owen, Brown, Vigo, Clay and Vermillion. The Relief Sales Representative provides support for the District Sales team by maintaining an effective workflow in the event of an open territory, executing sales initiatives, and managing any other support role function assigned by the District Sales Manager. The Relief Sales Representative is a diverse role and has the capacity to assist in all aspects of the district structure.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for covering open territories due to vacancy, vacation, extended leave, personal time off and/or any other reason a territory could be vacated.
  • Provides administrative and warehouse support for Hoosier Lottery offices and offsite storage facilities on an as needed basis, including organizing and distributing Point of Sale, and managing instant ticket returns.
  • Aids in the collection of necessary paperwork required for new retailers, renewals, change of ownerships and terminations, as directed by the Division Licensing Specialist.
  • Supports when necessary with retail resets, new store set-ups, terminations, and change of ownerships.
  • Assists in the development of detailed execution plans and promotional programs to grow sales within the sales district.
  • Provides training on Hoosier Lottery products, equipment, and sales best practices for all retailers.
  • Assists with collection and delivery of all Hoosier Lottery inventory, property, and equipment.
  • Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with both internal and external customers.
  • Upholding the Retailer Lottery Contract policies and procedures
  • Performs other related tasks as assigned.
Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field from a four-year college/university or equivalent combination of education and successful work experience.

Experience

  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience in retail or wholesale route sales.

  • Effective time management and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.

At Brightstar, we consider a wide range of factors in determining compensation, including background, skills, experience, and work location. These factors can cause your compensation to vary. The estimated starting compensation is $51,000. The actual pay offered may end up being higher or lower. The Company will comply with all local pay requirements and collective bargaining agreements, where applicable.
