Job summary

The Salvation Army Orange County Buena Park Store is seeking a Sales Associate/Material Handler to promote a positive shopping and donor experience. You will help customers, prepare merchandise for display, and assist with donations while upholding TSA policies.

The role requires reliable, team-oriented individuals who can lift up to 50 lbs, pass a background check, and contribute to a clean, organized store environment. Part-time flexibility is offered with employee discounts and benefits.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Must pass a background check, which will include Criminal History and Sex Offender Registry.
• Ability to communicate effectively with management, fellow store employees, customers, and donors.
• Must be able to accurately handle POS/Cash Register operations and cash transactions.

Responsibilities

• Greeting customers and donors with a courteous, helpful attitude.
• Stocking-priced items ready for display on the sales floor.
• Maintain store and donation area cleanliness and organization.
• Perform cleaning duties as assigned by Management.
• Follow POS/Cash Register policies in TSA guidelines.
• Maintain safety and compliance standards.
• Attend Monthly Store Meetings.
• Receive, unload, and stock incoming inventory items accurately.
• Inspect products for defects and damages for quality assurance.
• Provide receipts to donors and assist with donation item removal from donors’ vehicles.
• Sort donated material into proper containers and stack as instructed by Management.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Management.
