Job summary

The Salvation Army Orange County is seeking a part-time Sales Associate / Material Handler at our Fountain Valley store. You will greet customers and donors, stock and merchandize items, and help maintain a clean, organized donation area.

Responsibilities include processing purchases on the POS system, following TSA policies, and ensuring safety and compliance. You will participate in monthly store meetings and assist with inventory and QA tasks as needed.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Must be able to accurately handle POS/Cash Register operations and cash transactions.
• Must pass a background check, which will include Criminal History and Sex Offender Registry.
• Ability to communicate effectively with management, fellow store employees, customers, and donors.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and donors and provide prompt, courteous assistance.
• Stock priced items and merchandize on the sales floor.
• Maintain store and donation area, keeping it clean, neat and organized.
• Perform cleaning duties as assigned by Management.
• Follow POS/Cash Register Policies in TSA Procedures.
• Maintain safety and compliance standards.
• Attend monthly store meetings.
• Receive, unload, and stock inventory items accurately.
• Provide QA by inspecting products for defects.
• Assist donors with removal of donated items and issue receipts.
• Sort donated material into proper containers and stack as instructed.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Management.
