Job summary

Goodwill of Greater Washington is seeking a customer-focused retail associate to deliver friendly service and assist customers in-store and by phone. You will manage price tagging, stocking, and point-of-sale transactions with accuracy in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities

• Provides professional and courteous service to all customers inside the store, outside of the store, and on the phone.
• Assures merchandise is placed on the sales floor in a timely manner.
• Able to ensure items are rung accurately on the register.
• Demonstrates accurate cash handling skill to include making change, operating and maintaining the cash register, check and charge card machine, and use of a calculator.
• Maintains knowledge of merchandise and answers customer’s questions courteously and promptly.
• Keeps floor merchandise neat and orderly (racks, shelves, bins, and hangers) and assists customers with purchase selections.
• Maintains clean professional appearance.
• Maintain an orderly and clean register area.
• Maintain familiarity with store security procedures and exercise security practices when necessary.
• Perform general housekeeping responsibilities to include: store upkeep duties as needed to include sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, wiping shelves, and dusting (including restrooms and dressing rooms).
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
