Big Sky Resort is seeking a Retail Sales Associate to welcome guests, share product knowledge, and deliver an exceptional customer experience daily. You will support a dynamic retail environment across multiple outlets, assist with product selection, and help drive sales through friendly service and upselling where appropriate.

You will maintain store standards, assist with merchandising, and participate in training to improve product knowledge and service skills.

• Experience in retail or customer service preferred but not required.
• Strong communication and guest-focused mindset.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.

You play a key role in supporting our dynamic retail environment by engaging with customers, maintaining store standards, and contributing to overall team success.

As a Retail Sales Associate at Big Sky Resort, you are the face of our retail operations, welcoming guests, sharing product knowledge, and delivering an exceptional customer experience every day. You play a key role in supporting our dynamic retail environment by engaging with customers, maintaining store standards, and contributing to overall team success.

Big Sky’s retail locations offer a wide range of products including ski, snowboard, and bike gear, outerwear, apparel, athleisure wear, gifts, and souvenirs. We are looking for enthusiastic, guest-focused individuals to join our team across locations such as: Lone Peak Logo, Big Sky Cap Co., Candle Bar, Madison Mercantile, and the Huntley Trading Post. Responsibilities

Customer Experience & Sales

• Greet all guests with a friendly, welcoming attitude and provide excellent customer service throughout their visit.
• Assist customers with product selection, answer questions, and offer upselling opportunities based on current promotions and guest needs.
• Stay knowledgeable about product offerings across all categories, including seasonal equipment and apparel.
• Help drive store sales by contributing to a fun, engaging, and service-focused environment.

Store Presentation & Merchandising

• Maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing sales floor that reflects brand standards.
• Assist with restocking merchandise, setting up displays, and executing merchandising plans.
• Support daily execution of visual and brand standards as outlined in the internal audit processes.

Operational Support

• Accurately process transactions at the point-of-sale system, including sales, returns, and exchanges.
• Follow all company policies and procedures, including safety, cleanliness, and loss prevention protocols.
• Assist with opening and closing procedures, ensuring the store is always "grand opening sharp".
• Maintain a safe and organized workspace for team members and guests.

Team Collaboration

• Work closely with fellow team members and store leadership to meet daily goals and provide seamless guest experiences.
• Participate in ongoing training sessions to improve product knowledge and service skills.
• Support store operations by assisting with special projects, promotional events, and seasonal transitions as needed.

Qualifications

• Previous retail or customer service experience preferred, but not required.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a guest-first mindset.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Flexible availability including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Physical Requirements

• Able to stand and walk for extended periods
• Capable of overhead reaching, bending, squatting, kneeling, and lifting up to 55 lbs with assistance
• Comfortable walking stairs and climbing ladders
• Able to perform daily maintenance tasks including sweeping, vacuuming, and trash removal
