• Knowledge of medication and dosage measurement preferred.
• Knowledge of pharmacy law and medical terminology preferred.
• Experience with a prescription management system (e.g., Pioneer) is a plus.
• National Certification is an asset and may reward PTO/pay.

Responsibilities

• Assist Pharmacists in the safe distribution of medications and pharmaceutical care.
• Sterilize surfaces and equipment and prepare the pharmacy for opening.
• Greet customers and answer questions.
• Receive prescriptions and check their validity.
• Enter and process prescriptions under supervision and after pharmacist review.
• Ensure all patient and prescription information is complete and accurate.
• Resolve issues such as rejected insurance claims.
• Select medicines and measure dosages to fill prescriptions.
• Sort, stock, label medications and monitor inventory.
• Undertake administrative tasks and record-keeping as needed.
• Comply with security measures and quality standards.
• Other tasks as assigned by management.
